Sac City Unified Proposes New Teacher Contract and Round the Clock Negotiations to Resolve Labor Dispute and Reduce Budget Deficit
District seeks to resolve matters before school year starts so that students and families will not be impacted and distracted by negotiations

SACRAMENTO, CA 鈥 Seeking to reach an agreement with the 茄子视频 City Teachers Association (SCTA) before the start of the school year, the 茄子视频 City Unified School District has submitted a proposal to SCTA leaders and requested round the clock negotiations. The proposal would set ground rules for engaging in good faith negotiations, limit the District鈥檚 contribution to health insurance premiums, and establish an earlier school year start date.

To Eliminate Budget Deficit And Protect Funding For Students, Sac City Unified Board of Education and Superintendent Call On Employees To Make 鈥淪hared Sacrifices鈥

The 茄子视频 City Unified School District announced in a video statement on Wednesday that it has managed to find millions in cost savings, with most cuts being made away from the classroom. However, Superintendent Aguilar and Board President Jessie Ryan warned that these cuts will not be enough to entirely address the district鈥檚 structural deficit. Both leaders called on district employees to rise to the occasion and make shared sacrifices to eliminate the structural budget deficit. .

We understand that many of our families count on us to provide students with a safe and supervised environment to go to during the day. What: After decades of playing on an old and outdated field, student athletes at Hiram Johnson High School can finally celebrate the grand opening of a new athletic field and facility paid for with voter approved bond money. 茄子视频 City Unified Board of Education Approves 2018-19 School District Budget, Faces $24.3M Deficit

SACRAMENTO, CA 鈥 On Thursday night, the 茄子视频 City Unified Board of Education unanimously approved a $555.3 million budget for the upcoming fiscal year. In recent years the district has been facing a number of significant cost increases to cover its obligations, including a state-mandated increase in the amount school districts have to pay for pension contributions administered by CalPERS and CalSTRS and rising health care costs. To balance the budget, the district projects it will need to spend $24.3 million from its reserves in the 2018-19 fiscal year.

SCUSD Food Literacy Program to Receive $72,000 Grant from Raley鈥檚

To kick-off , 茄子视频 City Unified School District鈥檚 Food Literacy Program will be announcing that Raley鈥檚 has awarded $72,000 to the program. The Food Literacy Center inspires and teaches low-income elementary children to eat their vegetables by teaching them to cook and the importance of nutrition to improve our health, environment and economy. The programs mission is to inspire kids to make healthier food choices.

Historic Agreement to Increase College Entrance and Graduation Rates Signed by Sac City Unified and Region鈥檚 Leading Higher Education Institutions
