Food Literacy Center Celebrates Grand Opening of New Facility at Leataata Floyd Elementary School
New state-of-the-art facility to serve Sac City Unified Students, families, and community members

茄子视频, CA - After more than seven years in the making, the Food Literacy Center has a new home. The 4,500 square-foot facility at Leataata Floyd Elementary now serves as the headquarters for the nonprofit. The 2.5-acre facility features a cooking classroom, commercial kitchen, and student gardens to provide Food Literacy Center the space to advance their mission of developing food literacy in children across 茄子视频.

SCUSD Nutrition Services Offers Summer Meals for Children

茄子视频, CA - Beginning today, Thursday, June 30, 2022, the 茄子视频 City Unified School District鈥檚 (SCUSD) Nutrition Services Department is offering breakfast and lunch at more than 30 SCUSD school locations.

All children 18 years-old and under can receive a meal, no paperwork necessary and enrollment is not required. The summer meal program is available Monday through Friday for breakfast and lunch through Friday, July 29, 2022. Breakfast is served from 8 a.m. 鈥 8:30 a.m. and lunch is served from 12 p.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Update on West Campus Racist Graffiti Investigation

茄子视频, CA - An investigation into racist graffiti and social media activity at West Campus High School in November 2021 is now complete and a report has been issued.  The 茄子视频 City Unified School District immediately retained a neutral outside investigator who spent six months looking into the complaints about West Campus.  This investigation was separate from the 茄子视频 Police Department鈥檚 criminal investigation of the matter.

SCUSD Responds to Unfair Practice Charge

茄子视频, CA - SCUSD is aware that the 茄子视频 City Teachers鈥 Association (SCTA) filed an Unfair Practice Charge with the Public Employment Relations Board (PERB) alleging bad faith bargaining and interference with SCTA鈥檚 rights.  The District denies the allegations made in the complaint and will respond to the charge.

茄子视频 City Unified Provides Update on Kit Carson International Academy Investigation

茄子视频, CA - The 茄子视频 City Unified School District has ended its employment relationship with a teacher who used racist language in a classroom at Kit Carson International Academy last June. The district quickly removed the teacher from the classroom following the incident, and the teacher was placed on administrative leave during an investigation about the matter.

SCUSD Negotiations Progress Update for Friday, April 1

茄子视频, CA 鈥  The following provides an update on where negotiations stand with SCTA and SEIU.
 
SCTA and SEIU are independent labor unions that are currently striking at the same time. The 茄子视频 City Unified School District (SCUSD) is in active, yet separate, negotiations with both labor partners. The SCUSD team has devoted considerable hours in the past few days meeting with both union bargaining teams and in caucus to discuss options and ideas for resolving this dispute.

ACHIEVING SHARED GOALS IN SERVICE OF OUR STUDENTS In negotiations with SCTA, the district is offering: On top of already providing the highest compensation in the region, the District is offering to pay: 100% of health care coverage for ALL SCTA-represented employees AND their families, AND a raise, AND one-time bonuses, AND additional paid professional development days. 100% PAY INCREASE ONE TIME BONUSES MORE PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT INCREASED PAY FOR SUBSTITUTE TEACHERS PAID COVERAGE 鈥 Ongoing 3% salary increase starting in the 2021-22 school year. .
