SCUSD hosts anti-bullying training for parents tonight
October is National Bullying Prevention Month; session tonight is second in a series to combat destructive behaviors

October 10, 2012 (ÇÑ×ÓÊÓƵ):  ÇÑ×ÓÊÓƵ City Unified School District will hold a community bullying prevention training at Sutter Middle School tonight — October 10 — which is also Unity Day, a national event to promote tolerance.

October is National Bullying Prevention Month.

The training tonight – the second in a series of five – is free and open to anyone in the community who wants to learn more about keeping kids safe at school and in cyberspace.

SCUSD launched a district-wide crackdown on bullying in June 2011 when the Board of Education approved a sweeping new anti-bullying policy. At the trainings, parents can learn how to identify bullying behaviors and what to do if their child is being bullied.

WHAT:  Parent and Community Bullying Prevention Trainings

WHEN/WHERE:  
Trainings are from 5:30-7:30 p.m. on the following dates at the following locations:
• Wednesday, October 10, Sutter Middle School, 3150 I St.
• Thursday, November 1, Rosemont High School, 9594 Kiefer Blvd.
• Tuesday, November 13, Will C. Wood Middle School, 6201 Lemon Hill Ave.
• Wednesday, November 14, John F. Kennedy High School, 6715 Gloria Drive
