SCUSD Statement on Racist Material Distributed at Kit Carson International Academy

ÇÑ×ÓÊÓƵ, CA – The District is aware of racist material distributed at Kit Carson International Academy today and wants all of our families to know this matter is being handled with the utmost seriousness. Sac City Unified strongly condemns the use of racist language or material and has taken swift disciplinary action against the two students involved. The district is also providing support for students and staff who may have experienced trauma or harm as a result.

Sac City Unified to Open Enrollment for Transitional Kindergarten for 2023-24 Starting Tuesday, February 21
ÇÑ×ÓÊÓƵ City Unified has expanded its Transitional Kindergarten to 33 locations

ÇÑ×ÓÊÓƵ, CA – ÇÑ×ÓÊÓƵ City Unified announced today that applications will open for the 2023-2024 Transitional Kindergarten program starting Tuesday, February 21 at 8:00am. Students who turn five September 2, 2023 through April 2, 2024 are eligible to apply. ÇÑ×ÓÊÓƵ City Unified will expand its transitional kindergarten to 33 locations for the 2023-2024 school year.

Phoebe A. Hearst Elementary Recognized as 2023 California Distinguished School

ÇÑ×ÓÊÓƵ, CA – The ÇÑ×ÓÊÓƵ City Unified School District received word this week that Phoebe A. Hearst Elementary School has been recognized as a 2023 California Distinguished School by the California Department of Education. This year, the distinction was awarded to only 356 elementary schools out of the 5,824 statewide.
