If you would like to take a leave of absence from the District, there are many available leaves in accordance with your Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).
Please review your CBA for specific details regarding what types of leaves of absence you are eligible to take either short-term or long-term leave.

MATERNITY LEAVE ~ Pregnancy Disability Leave (PDL)
In preparation for maternity time off, you will need to do the following:
Families First Coronavirus Response Act (FFCRA or ACT)
These provisions will apply from April 1, 2020 through December 31, 2020 (EXPIRED 12/31/2020)
The Families First Coronavirus Response Act (FFCRA or Act) requires certain employers to provide their employees with paid sick leave and expanded family and medical leave for specified reasons related to COVID-19. These provisions will apply from April 1, 2020 through December 31, 2020. (EXPIRED 12/31/2020)
Family and Medical Leave Act and California Family Rights Act (“FMLA / CFRA”)
The Family and Medical Leave Act and California Family Rights Act (“FMLA / CFRA”) provide eligible employees the opportunity to take unpaid, job-protected leave for certain specified reasons.
The maximum amount of leave an employee may use is either 12 or 26 weeks within a 12-month period depending on the reasons for the leave.

Human Resource Services will negotiate a Catastrophic Leave Memorandum of Understanding followed by donation requests to be processed.
