Enroll in 2023-2024 Parent Participation Preschool Program

Your participation in preschool is a wonderful way to begin what will be many years of involvement in your child’s education.

Parents volunteer in the classroom at least one day a week in collaboration and guidance of the preschool teacher to help children develop a variety of skills including social and emotional development, pre-writing, concepts, collaborative play, and foundational skills for kindergarten.

2023-2024 Academic Calendar

Dear Sac City Unified Families, 

At our Board of Education meeting last night, the Board approved our 2023-2024 student traditional academic calendar. The first day of school this coming fall will be Thursday, August 31, 2023.

ÇÑ×ÓÊÓƵ City Unified School District Announces Superintendent Transition

The ÇÑ×ÓÊÓƵ City Unified School Board today announced that Superintendent Jorge A. Aguilar will step down at the end of this month. The search for a new superintendent to lead the District will begin immediately.

Superintendent Aguilar’s last day of service in Sac City Unified (SCUSD) is June 30, 2023. SCUSD Deputy Superintendent Lisa Allen will serve as acting superintendent during the District’s leadership transition.

Summer Mobile Food Pantry Community Food Distribution: 7/5-8/18

Dear Sac City Unified Families,

This summer, The Central Kitchen is distributing grocery boxes through our Mobile Food Pantry on a first come, first served basis to any ÇÑ×ÓÊÓƵ community member, every Monday through Friday, from July 5 through August 18 between 8 am and 9:30 am. 

Special thanks to ÇÑ×ÓÊÓƵ Food Bank & Family Services and No Kid Hungry for partnering with us by providing food and funding.

CAASPP Student Score Reports

Parents/Guardians,

Your child’s 2022-23 CAASPP results are now available in the Parent Portal. You will see scores for English Language Arts (ELA) and mathematics. If your child was in grades five, eight or twelve, you will also see CAST (California Science Test) scores. You can view theses scores using the following path: More>Assessments>California Paperless Reporting

Sac City Unified Board of Education Votes to Rename Three Schools
New names will be Miwok Middle School, Suy:u Elementary, and Umoja International Academy

ÇÑ×ÓÊÓƵ, CA - As part of Sac City Unified’s commitment to confront and interrupt racism and create safe learning environments that are welcoming, inclusive, and inspiring places for all students and staff, the SCUSD Board of Education voted at the June 22, 2023 meeting to rename three schools as Miwok Middle School (formerly Sutter Middle School), Suy:u Elementary School (formerly Peter Burnett Elementary School), and Umoja International Academy (formerly Kit Carson International Academy).

SCUSD to Hold Groundbreaking Ceremony to Mark Beginning of Construction for Nicholas Elementary
Second of three new campuses to be built in nearly two decades; made possible by voter approved funding from Measure H

WHAT: Groundbreaking ceremony to mark the beginning of construction of a new, state-of-the-art campus to replace the aging facilities.
WHEN: Friday, June 9 at 10:00am
WHERE: Nicholas Elementary Elementary, 6601 Steiner Drive, ÇÑ×ÓÊÓƵ, CA 95823
VISUALS: Elected and school officials will break ground with a shovel ceremony and make remarks. Students will be on hand for the event including a 2nd Grader who will be young enough to return to the school when the brand new campus re-opens in Fall 2025.
