The International Baccalaureate honors program is housed in the Global Studies Small Learning Community. Students in this program want to challenge themselves to be the best they can be academically. The IB program is a worldwide education programs founded to give all students the opportunity to receive an education fit for a globalizing world, and is intended to develop students’ intellectual, emotional, personal and social skills.

John F. Kennedy Marine Corps Jr. ROTC Program

Program Information

Marine Corps Junior ROTC (MCJROTC) is at its essence a Leadership Education Program meant to develop character and citizenship.  Often young adults receive conflicting messages about right and wrong, good and bad.  Joining and participating in MCJROTC can help students make the best decisions based upon learning and practicing core values and the development of character and personal responsibility.

Program Information

In the Culinary Arts Pathway, students expand their study of Culinary Arts and explore Hospitality Management.  They learn and apply their knowledge through standards and project-based curriculum in the lab class setting and in a working food service kitchen.  Students develop culinary skills through nutritional analysis and recipe costing and development.  They learn the correct use of food service equipment and food and kitchen safety.

Program Information

This magnet academy includes all basic high school course requirements plus specialized training in the field of law enforcement. Students will study the basic course materials used by those in training to be police cadets. Additionally, the curriculum covers investigative procedures, forensic science, physical training, and law principles. The JFK CJA Program is offered through a partnership with the ÇÑ×ÓÊÓƵ Police Department.

The Hiram Johnson Corporate Business Academy (CBA) will provide rigorous integrated instruction based on real-world learning experiences in cooperation with business partners, community agencies, educational institutions, students and family. Our students participate in project based learning activities and a portfolio assessment that highlights cross-curricular learning and have beyond the classroom opportunities with trips to nearby colleges and businesses.

Hiram Johnson Air Force Jr. ROTC Program

Program Information

Air Force Junior ROTC program is part of a nationally recognized distinguished unit. The program provides instruction in leadership, citizenship, and life skills—as well as teaching about aerospace science. Students gain many off campus educational opportunities through field trips and drill competitions. Participants in the color guard or drill team perform at school athletic events and other important functions and activities.

Program Information

Carver is the first public Waldorf methods high school in California.  Our curriculum is modeled on the traditional Waldorf curriculum: a four year developmentally based high school program integrating arts and adolescent development into all areas of the program.  At Carver, the curriculum is rigorous; academic classes emphasize the development of independent investigation, critical thinking, and applied academic and creative skills that students will later use to contribute to their community.
